New Albany – Lanie Ruth Williams Baker, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. She was born May 13, 1937 in Union County to the late David Q. and Edna Corder Williams.
She was a homemaker. She had a passion for yard work and loved decorating for Christmas.
She and her husband of 59 years, Ralph Baker, enjoyed camping and travelling after his retirement, having travelled to twenty-nine countries.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was a very faithful reader of God’s Word.
Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Dean Timbes officiating. Burial will be at Vista Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Baker; one son, Ronald Baker of Tupelo; three daughters, Tina Moorman (Terry) of New Albany, Audrey Little (John) of Belden and Teresa Robbins (Rick) of New Albany; two sisters, Billie Sue Bridges of Iuka and Blanche Armstrong of Tupelo; nine grandchildren: John Alan Baker, David Baker, Adam McMillen, Paige Allred, Miranda McCraw, Mallory Little, Mark Robbins, Callie Robbins and Sarah Robbins; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Mrs. Baker’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2018 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
