Randy Dunnam, 53

Randy Dunnam, New Albany MS

Randy Dunnam

Randy Allen Dunnam was called home to be with our heavenly father on Monday January 30, 2017.

Born August 21, 1963, to Allen and Lavon Dunnam. Randy married Tameri D. Bryant in 1988 and raised three amazing children, Jordan, Sam Jackson and Olivia.

Randy graduated from W.P. Daniel High School in 1981 and went on to Northeast Community College where he was a member of the football and baseball teams. After completing his two years at Northeast, he transferred to the University of Mississippi where he finished his formal education. Upon graduation, Randy started his working life where he enjoyed 23 years as a pharmaceutical sales representative and the last six years as the Union County Tax Assessor/Collector.

As much as Randy loved his family, his church family was special to him, too. He was a member of First Baptist Church of New Albany where he grew up singing in the choir. He was known for his love of song and used his voice to bring happiness to others. In addition to singing in the choir, Randy served as a deacon and loved teaching Sunday School. He taught 11th and 12th grade boys for many years and recently taught a young couples’ class.

Randy had a gift of making people feel comfortable and he never met a stranger. He was a loving individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. He set a positive example for others and encouraged all who met him to see the good, even in the most difficult of times. His love for Jesus overflowed and we all know that he planted many seeds throughout his life’s journey. Randy was a man of God and he knew what his life’s reward would be, but he never gave up fighting his earthly battle. He lived his life to the fullest by honoring God and putting his Faith fully in Him.

Randy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leon and Vivian Jackson, and paternal grandparents, Frank and Myrtis Dunnam.

Randy is survived by his wife Tameri, his three children, Jordan Murry (Ryan), Sam Jackson Dunnam and Olivia Dunnam, his parents Allen and Lavon Dunnam, and one brother, Scott Dunnam (Laura), all of New Albany. Also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, New Albany with pastors Greg Spencer and Tom Sumrall officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday January 31, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at First Baptist, New Albany.
