Tommye Lammey Carver

March 8, 1935 – February 1, 2018

Tommye Lammey Carver, much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born on March 8, 1935, in Tunica County, to George Duke Lammey and Irene Scarbrough Lammey.

Married for 53 years to her devoted husband LeRoy Carver, Tommye was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Mary Richey Circle, sang in the Chancel Choir, and served on the Altar Guild. In addition, she was a member of the Sanctuary Hospice Women’s Auxiliary and the Altrusa Club of Tupelo.

Tommye is survived by her husband LeRoy Carver, daughters Diane Greer of Holly Springs and Donna Davin (Bill) of Rome, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Anna Giachelli (Maury) of Tupelo and Wright Greer (Mary) of Hickory Flat, and one great-grandson, Hayes Giachelli. She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Lammey Oswalt of Knightdale, NC. Tommye is survived by one brother, Brooks Lammey (Sharon) of Olive Branch, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at United Funeral Home of New Albany at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018, with funeral services to follow at 4:00 p.m. Reverend Timothy Prather will deliver the eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House of Tupelo.!/Obituary
