Wylie Lyn Lyons
February 27, 1963 – May 16, 2018
New Albany-Wylie Lyn Lyons, age 55, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN from complications of a liver transplant. He was born February 27, 1963, in New Albany to the late Wylie Walter Lyons and Mable Reese Lyons. He worked as a diesel technician for 35 years and was a lifelong farmer. He was an avid hunter, and loved his dog, Cujo. He was a member of Ingomar Baptist Church. He was a 1981 Ingomar Graduate and a 1983 NEMCC graduate.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, at United Funeral Service with Dr. Terry Cutrer officiating. Burial will be in Ingomar Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Lorrie Dillard Lyons; two sons, Walter Robert Lyons (Cristina) of Tupelo and Chance Daniel Mayo of New Albany; a nephew he thought of as a son, Austin Sanders; and a sister, Sissy Bullock (Chris) of New Albany.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Dyer, Ricky Moorman, Austin Sanders, Gene Cooksey, Mitchell Lyons, and Randy Lyons.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, May, 20, 2018, from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal shelter or a charity of one’s choice.
