New Albany MS CJ Bright candidate for supervisor

CJ Bright is announcing his candidacy as a Republican for the Third District Supervisor of Union County.

Mr. Bright makes his home with his wife Abby and three children Ray (15), Annie Bine (8), and Heidi (18 months), on a cattle farm in the North Haven Community. CJ is self-employed as a residential and commercial building contractor. Additionally, he is owner of Bright Cattle Company, which produces commercial beef cattle grazed on several hundred acres in Union and Tippah Counties. The Brights are active members of First United Methodist Church, where he serves as a trustee and as a substitute Sunday school teacher. The eldest children are highly involved in athletics. Both parents serve on multiple athletic booster clubs at NAHS, as well as coaching little league.

Mr. Bright was born in Union County and graduated with honors from New Albany High School. Upon completing high school he attended Northeast Mississippi Community College, concentrating on accounting. While there he was a Dean’s List Scholar and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. After completing his studies at NEMCC he enrolled in Blue Mountain College and earned a cum laude Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Throughout his college years CJ was also a full time employee of Roy Bright Construction, while growing the cattle operation he started while in high school. After graduating from BMC he continued his employment with his family’s construction business for several years before leaving to establish Bright Custom Construction.

Mr. Bright feels that his education, as well as the experience he has gained from being a small business owner, will help him to serve the people of Union County. He is highly motivated to be an approachable and accountable supervisor for the constituents of the third district. His goal, if elected, is to achieve the most progress for Union County, with the least burden to the taxpayers of Union County.
