Creekmore running for District 14 seat in state legislature

Sam Creekmore qualifies

New Albany businessman Sam Creekmore IV has qualified to run as state representative for District 14, which covers most of Union County. Running as a Republican, Creekmore seeks to replace Margaret Rogers, who is retiring after having served four terms.

Creekmore is a graduate of Mississippi State University, with a degree in landscape architecture. His wife Warner also holds a landscape architecture degree from Mississippi State. They founded Creekmore Landscape in New Albany in 1992. Creekmore Landscape is among the top professional landscaping companies in Mississippi and provides design, building and maintenance for landscaping at homes, businesses, and institutions. The prayer garden at the First United Methodist Church in New Albany is among Creekmore Landscape’s most visible local creations.

Sam Creekmore holds a state contractor’s license and founded Carpe Diem Holdings, LTD, a construction company, in 2004. Carpe Diem has built over 400 homes, condominiums, and commercial buildings in North Mississippi.

In addition to his design and construction projects, Creekmore is active in a wide range of community and civic activities. He helped found the Cotton States Baseball league in 2009. Cotton States provides summer time baseball playing opportunities, under professional coaching, for college, high school and middle school baseball players from throughout the South.

He is a member of the New Albany City School Board, one of the top-rated public school systems in the state.

Sam and Warner Creekmore have three children, Callie, Josh, and Lewis.
