Etta—Gary Lawayne Cooper, 71, died Saturday, April 28, 2018, at his residence. He was born February 28, 1947, in Pinedale to John Odis and Ottice Pence Cooper. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he helped with the senior trips. He loved to collect model cars and always loved to show them to everyone who came to visit. He loved to bowl and won several bowling trophies. He was a retired store owner.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Pilcher officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Willard Cooper; 1 son: Darin Cooper (Heather) of Tiplersville, MS.; and 2 grandchildren: Matt Cooper and Madison Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother: John Carlton Cooper.
Pallbearers will be Mike Garrett, John Garrett, Bo Garrett, Drew Garrett, Brantly Bryant, and Steve Haynie.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at United. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018.
