Geraldine Roland Bonds Coffey, age 97, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Union County Health and Rehab. She was born July 6, 1921 to Giles Roland Bonds and Ada Ferrell Bonds in Lafayette County-Philadelphia Community. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Rocky Ford Eastern Star Chapter #264 (Past Matron), WMU, Philadelphia Homemakers Club, Sunday Schools and Bible School Teacher. She loved her family and enjoyed the many Sunday dinners where family gathered together.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Irvin and Rev. Randy Bynum officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her daughters, Janice Coffey Nolan (Paul) and Sherry Coffey Clayton (Mickey); a daughter-in-law, Twanda Coffey; one sister, Frances Bonds Bynum; six grandchildren, Marty Coffey (JoBeth), Ryan Clayton, Chad Nolan (Kim), Matt Nolan (Beth), Lyndie Scott (Brad), and Lauren Hurt (Josh); eleven great-grandchildren, Hayley Holt (Lee Allen), Andrew Coffey (Alex), Caleb Nolan, Molly Scott, Maggie Scott, Harrison Scott, Clayton Hurt, John Michael Hurt, Julianna Scott and Hudson Hurt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Myles Holt and Evan Holt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Guy and Jimmie Coffey; her husband, James H. Coffey; her son, James Major Coffey; and two sisters, Anna Lou Bonds Peacock and Ruby Bonds Hale.

Pallbearers will be Marty Coffey, Chad Nolan, Ryan Clayton, Matt Nolan, Caleb Nolan, Dr. Brad Scott, Andrew Coffey, Lee Allen Holt, and Josh Hurt. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Philadelphia Baptist Church and Eastern Star members.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at United Funeral Service. There will be no visitation prior to services at the church.
