Glenda Wood Adair

Glenda Rue Wood Adair, 80, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 6, 1939 in New Albany to Fred Cecil Wood and Viola Littlejohn Wood.
She graduated from Ingomar High School in 1958. She then obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Memphis State University. Continuing her education, she earned her Master of Education and her Specialist in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi. She retired from teaching at Ingomar School after thirty-five years.
She was a member of Ingomar Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Ingomar basketball games and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Clyde Pound and Dr. Terry Cutrer officiating. Burial will be at Ingomar Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of over fifty-six years, William Oliver Adair; two sons, Trent Adair (Ginger) and Avery Adair (Christy); two sisters, Lenda Weeden (Billy Charles) and Ann Wood, all of New Albany; and four grandchildren: Jett Henry Adair, Webb Harrell Adair, Mills Marie Adair and William Talmadge Adair.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Houston Wood and Billy Wood.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
