New Albany – James Donald Beasley, 71, passed from this life Friday, February 16, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born August 9, 1946 in New Albany to James Theodore and Carrie Mae Ruth Eaker Beasley. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion. He was retired from Master-Bilt.

He was a Christian and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He taught First and Second grade Sunday School Class for many years. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. His hobbies included collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and miniature antique cars. He had an outgoing personality and loved to joke around.

Funeral services will be 3:00p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Whit Lewis and Bro. Don Shaffer officiating. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pickens Beasley; a daughter, Christy Shaffer (Bro. Don) and his grandchildren, Christopher Shaffer and Kayla Shaffer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Bolton and James Treadaway; and a sister-in-law, Evalyn Littlejohn.

Pallbearers will be Pete Cobb, Dale Manning, Gale Manning, Willey Wilson, Chris Heaton, Terry Baker, David Wilson and David Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Pickens, Danny Shaffer, Tommy Henderson, Marshall Robbins and the Mark Garrett Sunday School Class.

The family request memorials be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, The American Legion Post #72 or The Gideons International.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 4:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

In honor of Mr. Beasley’s service to his country, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Army flag during the visitation and service.!/Obituary
