Julius Malicar Franklin
July 10, 1932 – June 13, 2018
Julius M. Franklin, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at NMMC Inpatient Hospice in Tupelo. He was born July 10, 1932 in Casilla, MS to James Clifton Franklin and Mae Pinkston Franklin. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. He was a retired mechanic and enjoyed working on and selling cars.
Funeral services will be 3:00p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Vista Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ezell May Franklin; three children: Jeff Franklin (Rhonda) of New Albany, Pam Tyer (Titus) of Baldwyn and Dale Franklin (Tabitha) of New Albany; three step-brothers: Edward Smith, Leo Brewer and Charles Brewer; and eight grandchildren: Matt Tyer, Emily Wilkerson, Zack Franklin, Jordan Franklin, Jessica Wilder, Anthony Gannon, Ethan Criswell and Alex Criswell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Velma Franklin; three sisters, Audrey Franklin, Geneva Butler and Euretha Franklin; and four brothers, Earl Franklin, Dowell Franklin, Justin Franklin and Cary Franklin.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 1:00p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In honor of his service to his country, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Army flag during his visitation and funeral service.
