Mamie Mae Bryant

New Albany-Mamie Mae Bryant, age 101, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at New Albany Health and Rehab. She was born August 6, 1916, in Pensacola, Florida to Alec Jernigan and Genvia Holland Jernigan. She was a member of Victory Church and Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered at VCA Thrift Store and Victory Academy.
A memorial service for church family and friends will be 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Victory Life Center. Visitation will start at 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, with funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Nathan Carrell and Rev. Steve Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by a son, Rev. Raymond Bishop; two sisters, Estelle Mons and Mary Williams; a brother, Harold Jernigan; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a very close friend and care giver, Doris Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; sisters; and a great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Mark Bishop, Paul Bishop, Benjamin Bishop, Brent Bishop, Christian Bishop, Tim Hammond, Zach Hammond, Ben Williams, Elijah Mayo, and Chase Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Kain, Mike Graham, Rickey Bolen, Bill Chism, Herbert Fuller, Jerry Bailey, and Chester White.
