May “Sis” Evelyn Gresham Jordan

Myrtle – May “Sis” Evelyn Gresham Jordan, 88, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Magnolia Place in New Albany. She was born November 21, 1929 in Myrtle to the late Steward and Clara Lauderdale Gresham.
She was retired and had worked as a bus driver, a factory worker and for American Greeting Card Company. She had a servant’s heart and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also a longtime member of Old Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Old Oak Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Butler officiating. Burial will be at Old Oak Grove Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by a son, Doug Jordan (Mary) of New Albany; four sisters, Regina Gregory and Sammie Merritt, both of Myrtle, Nancy Chunn of Keownville and Frances Wooten of Myrtle; a brother, Abner Gresham of New Albany; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harman E. Jordan; a daughter, Vicki Brown; a son, Teddy Jordan; a sister, Linda Denton; and three brothers, Johnny Gresham, Bobby Gresham and Bill Gresham.
Pallbearers will be Lee Windam, Billy Wooten, Gary Gresham, Robert Merritt, Lee Jordan, Ricky Windam, Kenny Denton and J.T. Windam. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Brownlee and Wayne Hogue.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from noon until service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Old Oak Grove Baptist Church, to Gideon’s Bibles or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
