Mike Childers

Michael Dewayne Childers, 64, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home. He was born April 22, 1954 in Union County to Oliver Pascal Childers and Mary Elizabeth Stacks Childers.

He earned his degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Mississippi and retired after forty-one years of service with the Mississippi Highway Patrol. He was a member of Ecru Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and friends. He enjoyed hunting and also raising horses and mules.

Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Wednesday at United Funeral Service with Bro. William Montgomery officiating.

He is survived by three daughters Annie Kent (Ben) of New Albany, Robin Littlejohn (Tim Russell) and Nikki Salmon (Lee), of Ecru, two sons Stephen Childers (Melissa) and Shane Turk (Patty) of Ecru, two brothers, David Childers (Arkansas) and Jamie Childers (Memphis) and twelve grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wanda Kay Stephens Childers, one sister Sylvia Nolley, two brothers, Robert Childers and Ronnie Childers.

Visitation will be 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. Wednesday April 3rd at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Danny Jordan, Bill Grisham, Bryce Childers, Tanner Turk, Ronnie Stephens, Mike Chunn, Mike Griffin, Charlie Neal Huffstatler.

Honorary pallbearers are Richard Stephens, Bobby Childers, Chris Childers, Hugh David Speck.
