Travis Wayne Thomas, 78, died Monday, February 18, at BMHNM in Oxford. He was born July 19, 1940, in Union County to Quitman Rogers Thomas and Edith Eloise Duncan Thomas. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Myrtle. He was an evangelist and in cabinet construction.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Carolyn Bailey Thomas; 1 daughter: Stefanie Bailey of Myrtle; 1 son Steve Wayne Thomas of Myrtle; 2 sisters: Peggy Mathis (Jack) of New Albany and Edith Dees of Myrtle; 2 brothers: Carol Thomas (Frances) of Union City, TN., and John Thomas (Annette) of Greer’s Ferry, AR.; 3 grandchildren: Chelsea Nichols, Cameron Thomas, and Eugene Nichols; 2 great-grandchildren: Destin Nichols and Montana Nichols; and a host of step-grand and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers: H. R. Thomas, Bill Thomas, Quitman Lee Thomas, and 2 infant brothers; and 1 sister: Imogene Thomas.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Thomas, Tommy Bailey, Jason Bailey, Hugh Thomas, Jr., Barry Mathis, and Jim Dees.
