Lois “Geneva” Riley Nance, 76, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at The Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born September 18, 1940 in Memphis, TN to William Lee “Pop” Riley and Ruby Opal Stacks Riley. She was a retired florist from Burk’s Flower Shop in Memphis, where she often time delivered flowers to Elvis. She was very patriotic and was proud to be an American. She was a member of The Church of God and was known by Nanny to all that knew her.
Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday February 9, 2017 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Rodger Browning officiating. Burial will be at Gerizim Cemetery in Myrtle. United Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by five daughters, Debbie Evans, Ashley Nance Gooch (Matthew), Kathryn Nance Tyer, JoAnna Nance Kirkendall (Jeff), and Joyce Nance Miller; three sons, Billy Denton (Renee), Johnny Nance (Patricia), and Richard Nance (Peggy); and a brother, Thomas Riley; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wright Nance; her parents; five sisters, Barbara Witt, Tina Kimbell, Sue George, Dorothy Mays, and Opal Watkins; and five brothers, Wayne Riley, Maynard Riley, Earl Riley, Gene Riley, and Billy Riley.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at United Funeral Service.
Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons and nephews.
The family would like to honor and thank her care giving family at Sanctuary Hospice and ask that memorials be made to them or to Gerizim Cemetery.
