New Albany, MS– The New Albany School District realizes that protecting the health of school employees is fundamental to protecting the health of students and ensuring their academic success.  When staff members are committed to healthy and active lifestyles for themselves, they are able to model the behaviors that help students be fit, healthy, and ready to succeed.

“Becoming positive role models for children is just one of many benefits from the health promotion programs in our school district,” said New Albany High School Principal Lance Evans.  “We know that programs to promote the health of our employees are one more way to promote the health of our students and encourage their academic success.”

New Albany Schools strives to provide healthy programs for all employees and school nurses are always on hand to discuss with staff current health concerns that need special attention. “Having a registered nurse in each school in the district is a great advantage and we are always available to answer questions to enhance the health and wellness of our students and staff,” stated Health Services Coordinator Tammie Reeder.

“The health promotion programs in the New Albany School District have made a big difference in how our employees feel at work,” Reeder added.  “We are committed to equipping teachers with the knowledge and programs to enhance their own personal health resulting in more energy and a positive outlook.
