One fatality reported after accident in New Albany

New Albany, MS– A woman died in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in New Albany, according to information furnished to NAnewsweb.com by New Albany Police Chief, Chris Robertson.

The accident occurred at about 11:30 am on Davis (Airport) Road in the northwestern part of New Albany. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

The victim was identified as Joan A. Sweatman, age 74, of Ripley. Sweatman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union County Coroner. No further information has been made available at this time.
