Officers gathered in and around NAPD offices before dawn.

Starting about 5:30 a.m. teams of officers from the New Albany Police Department (NAPD), the Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO), Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), Mississippi Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) made arrests at numerous addresses around the city.

Rest Haven trailer park was the target of several warrants.

Although arrests were made around the city, the Rest Haven Trailer Park on Highway 178 (East Bankhead) was a hot spot for the Operation Ice Crusher activities.

Thirty-two arrests had been made by the time “Ice Crusher” started to wind down after 9 a.m.  NAPD Chief Chris Robertson said more arrests were likely throughout the day Thursday and into Friday as stragglers are gathered up.

“I thought the operation went well, was a good success with a lot of drug felons arrested in a very brief span of time,” said Robertson. “This could not have been done without the coordinated help from several agencies. I am grateful that they were working with us.”

Arrestees were brought in to NAPD office.

Further information regarding names of those arrested, exact charges, etc. will be available over coming hours, particularly during the day Friday and will be posted on NAnewsweb.com as it becomes available.
