New Albany-Patricia Neely Banks, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in New Albany on August 24, 2018. She was born April 10, 1939 to the late Lucille Kelly Neely and the late William Neely.

She was a member of First Baptist Church. She retired from Ford Elementary School after over 25 years. She was a tennis fan and enjoyed playing tennis with her lifelong friends for many years. She participated in meals on wheels where she enjoyed delivering meals to those in need. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church handbell choir for numerous years and played the clarinet in the New Albany Community Band. She was a charter member of Oaks Country Club and a founding member of the Jacettes, New Albany chapter.

Patricia loved and cherished her family and was always careful to protect them. She adored her daughter, Kelly, her grandsons (Will, Rob, and Sam), her granddaughter in laws (Emily & Paige), and her great granddaughters (Eady Claire & Emma Kelly Tucker). She loved her sister and brother in law (Phil and Susan Morris) and also had a special love for her nieces and nephews she always treated like they were her own.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Banks Tucker, grandsons Will (Emily), Rob (Paige), and Sam Tucker, great granddaughters Eady Claire Tucker and Emma Kelly Tucker, and a sister Susan Morris (Phil), close nieces and nephews: Phillip and Sandy Morris (Sydney & Jerry Zifodya, Hugh, Luke); Walt Morris; Ben and Jennifer Morris (Molly, Jay, Lucy); Brad and Jamie Clayton (Morris Kelly, Parker, Heidi and Caurie); and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, her loving husband of 56 years, Bobby Banks, and her son in law, Bill Tucker.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Will, Rob, and Sam Tucker; nephews Charles Kitchens, Phillip, Walt, and Ben Morris, and Brad Clayton. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh, Luke, and Jay Morris and Parker Clayton.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 25 from 12:30-3:00pm at United Funeral Home with the service to follow at 3:00pm officiated by Bro. Rick Blythe.
