Rescue units respond to two-vehicle wreck -

New Albany Rescue and the Southeast Union County Fire Department were dispatched to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Hwy. 178 East at Beacon Hill about 3 p.m. Monday, according to New Albany Deputy Fire Chief Mark Whiteside.

Upon arrival, units found one person trapped due to the electric locks and driver door jammed. Rescue personnel opened the door so BMH medics could assess the patient and remove them, he said.

One person was transported by ambulance to MBH-Union County with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was assessed on the scene but not transported.

Whiteside said further details were unavailable while law enforcement investigates the accident.
