Robbie Jean Messer Stevens, 86, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany. She was born October 9, 1932 in Union County to James David Messer and Ollie Lee Benefield Messer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family and friends knew her to be a great cook and was once featured as the “Cook of the Week” in the Daily Journal. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Gary Yates officiating. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Stevens Frazier of Myrtle; two sons, Johnnie Ralph Stevens (Lela) of Potts Camp and Jerry Stevens (Terri) of Myrtle; one brother, Jerry Messer (Tessie) of Myrtle; six grandchildren: Jeffrey Gordon (Dawn), Amanda Doss, Heath Stevens, Jared Stevens, Timothy Stevens and Kelly Stevens; her great grandchildren: Brandon Gordon (Stormy), Derrean Gordon, Leeshah Doss, Anthony “AJ” Doss, Steven Gordon, Kaitlyn Gordon Martin, Tesla Essary, Austin Essary, Mallorie Stevens and Skylar Stevens; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Stevens; a daughter, Gloria Stevens; a son, Terry Stevens; a grandson, Kurt Stevens; and three brothers, Chester Messer, James Newton Messer and Billy Messer.

Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.!/Obituary
