VIP Cinema Seating announces expanding operations in New Albany

Jackson, Miss. (April 14, 2015) – Movie theater seating manufacturer VIP Cinema Seating is expanding its operations in New Albany, Miss. The project represents a corporate investment of $2 million and will create 50 new jobs, bringing employment at the company to approximately 350.

“Mississippi’s furniture industry, one of the state’s largest manufacturing sectors, has seen strong growth in new investments and new jobs in recent years, and this expansion by VIP Cinema Seating continues that momentum,” Gov. Phil Bryant said. “I thank the company for this latest investment in its operations and for creating 50 new job opportunities for the area’s workforce.”

“We are pleased to be able to expand operations, and we appreciate all the support from the Mississippi Development Authority, Three Rivers Planning, city of New Albany, as well as Union County,” said VIP Cinema Seating President and CEO Stephen Simons.

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for building renovations and workforce training. Union County provided in-kind assistance for the project.
